RODRIGO VILLA (Bass)
Rodrigo has, for over ten years, bassist of Jobim Trio, formed by Paulo Jobim, Daniel Jobim and Paulo Braga (respectively, son, grandson and Tom’s drummer). Recorded with this group and Milton Nascimento the CD “New Bossas”. Toured for a year in Europe, USA and Canada, performing in the best concert halls and festivals in the world, as Salle Pleyel (Paris), Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Montreux Jazz Festival, Victoria Jazz Festival and Music House (Porto). Joined the World Cup group 5, the pioneering jazz saxophonist samba, JT Meirelles, also recording their latest CD, “New Scheme”. Toured in Japan with saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, guitarist Marcel Powell and the singer Fabiana Cozza. He has performed alongside the legendary guitarist Larry Coryell Jazz Festival Petropolis. He played in the work of musicians such as: Paulo Moura, Ze Roberto Bertrami (Azymuth), Jaques Morelenbaum, Marcos Ariel, Ricardo Silveira, Idriss Boudrioua, Paulinho Trumpet, Zé da Velha and Silverio Bridges, John Aquino, Marcos Amorim, Vittor Santos and Widor Santiago. Accompanied, among others (the) singers (as), Elza Soares, Danilo Caymmi, Miucha, Cauby Peixoto, Wando, Jorge Mautner, Bibi Ferreira, Mariana Moraes, Paula Santoro, Aurea Martins and Wilson das Neves. Currently a member of the band Mart’nália singer, the quartet of saxophonist Mauro Senise (with whom he recorded his latest CD), the guitarist Victor Biglione trio, the pianist of the group Marcos Ariel, among other works. He started playing with Beatriz Azevedo from 2013, the band Beatriz Azevedo & Barbarians Tecnizados in antroPOPhagia show.
